Why I sketch before I open the laptop

Twenty bad drawings in twenty minutes beat one polished idea. What my sketchbook is for.

The laptop makes everything look finished, which is exactly the problem at the start of a project.

Twenty drawings

I set a timer and draw twenty small versions of the idea. Most are bad. One or two are surprising.

Then pick

I choose one and only then move to the screen, with something worth refining.
